Idea Behind Company
The inspiration for FlexC came from Girish Kukreja’s observations over 20 years in the IT services sector. He noticed that while developed markets like the U.S. and U.K. had a higher mix of flexible employees, India was lagging behind. The pandemic underscored the need for a more flexible workforce, pushing Kukreja to act on his idea of creating a marketplace where companies could efficiently hire and manage both permanent and flexible employees. His vision was to digitize the hiring process with AI, creating an efficient system for workforce management.
Creating the Company
The development of FlexC began in mid-2020 when Kukreja started conceptualizing the platform’s design. The initial goal was to convert traditional resumes into digital profiles that AI could easily process. FlexC was built as a cloud-first SaaS platform using cutting-edge technologies like Python for AI and React for the user interface. Despite competition in the marketplace space, FlexC distinguished itself by focusing on freelance and contractor roles, later expanding to include permanent hires through partnerships with recruitment agencies.
Launching the Business
FlexC's launch was guided by an agile and iterative approach. The team worked closely with early customers, listening to their needs and continuously refining the platform. After months of development, the BETA version of FlexC was launched in October 2020. The team celebrated each release, continuously improving the platform’s functionality. One of their main strategies to attract and retain clients has been building strong relationships and using data-driven insights to improve the customer experience.
