About the Company

G-71 is a New York-based company that focuses on preventing data leaks in both digital and physical forms. The flagship product, LeaksID, applies invisible tags to documents, allowing for the detection of unauthorized disclosures, even when documents are photographed or copied physically. Sergey’s solution caters to businesses and individuals, aiming to fill a gap in the cybersecurity market by offering a scalable and effective method of protecting sensitive information.

The company’s technology is backed by a U.S. patent, marking it as a unique innovation in the field of document security. G-71 serves over 110,000 users globally, providing both cloud-based and private solutions for data security. The company has gained significant traction, thanks to its robust approach to addressing modern document leaks.

Idea Behind Company

The idea for G-71 and LeaksID came from Sergey’s personal experience with document leaks in a large corporation. He encountered a situation where sensitive company documents were photographed and leaked, which severely impacted the company’s reputation. Frustrated by the lack of existing solutions to combat this problem, Sergey realized there was a global demand for a leak deterrence system that could track down the source of a leak.

Sergey’s extensive experience in IT allowed him to visualize a solution to this widespread problem. After observing the market and understanding the growing demand for such technology, he set out to create an innovative approach to document labeling. The need for protecting sensitive corporate information drove the creation of the technology behind LeaksID.

Creating the Company

Sergey’s journey from IT executive to entrepreneur began with a collaboration with a company attempting to develop leak-deterrence technology. As a customer, he implemented their early solutions in his corporation, and after seeing the effectiveness of the product, he became the company’s Chief Visionary Officer. Eventually, Sergey and his partners bought out the business and transformed it into what is now G-71, with Sergey taking the lead as CEO.

Initially, the company acted as a systems integrator, offering consulting services for various IT solutions. However, after deciding to fully focus on their unique product, the team shifted their business model to become a dedicated vendor of their leak-deterrence technology. The shift paid off, and G-71 began to steadily grow its customer base and revenue without external funding or venture capital.

Launching the Business

In 2019, G-71 officially launched in the U.S., with Sergey leading the effort to establish a brand, build a website, and market their product. By 2021, the company had grown its revenue to $1.6M, fueled by its innovative document security solutions. G-71’s growth was self-funded through its initial sales, with additional support coming from participation in the Alchemist accelerator program.

The company’s marketing efforts included a successful launch on Product Hunt, where they attracted over 1,900 users in just a few days. The platform provided invaluable feedback and helped the company gain visibility. G-71 continues to reinvest its profits into product development, marketing, and expanding its infrastructure to support growing operations.

Earnings

G-71 has achieved impressive financial success since its inception, generating $1.5M in annual revenue. In 2021 alone, the company reached $1.6M, reinvesting all profits into scaling the business and enhancing its technology. Sergey is optimistic about the company’s future, predicting a sixfold increase in revenue in 2022, driven by new projects and the continued growth of their user base. Additionally, G-71 is exploring investment opportunities to accelerate growth, aiming to become a significant player in the cybersecurity industry.
