With over a million global searches for “logo maker” tools, he saw an opportunity to create a sustainable business. Creating the Company

Craig began by designing a user-friendly app that guided users through a step-by-step logo creation process. He handled the initial user journey and interface designs himself before partnering with a development team on Upwork to bring the product to life. The collaboration lasted three months, during which Craig constantly tested the platform with users to refine the experience.

The simplicity of the platform was its defining feature. Logobly enabled users to create professional logos without any design expertise, offering a straightforward solution for entrepreneurs. The product development process was marked by Craig’s commitment to user feedback and iterative improvements, ensuring the tool met the needs of its target audience.

Launching the Business

To generate buzz before launch, Craig set up a “coming soon” page and shared it across platforms like Indiehackers, Hackernews, and Landingfolio. By launch day, he had built a mailing list of 200 subscribers. Logobly’s debut on Product Hunt and Indiehackers garnered hundreds of upvotes, signaling strong initial interest.

Craig experimented with various customer acquisition strategies, including Google Ads, which proved less effective than anticipated. Blogging emerged as the most successful tactic for driving traffic. By publishing SEO-optimized content and creating side projects like “Startup Colors” and free ebooks, Craig was able to attract and retain customers while solving their branding challenges.

Earnings

At its peak, Logobly generated approximately $1,000 in monthly revenue. The platform’s success was rooted in its ability to provide value to entrepreneurs by simplifying the logo design process. Craig’s efforts to continuously improve the product, including adding new icons and fonts, helped maintain customer satisfaction and drive sales.

Despite its potential, Logobly’s journey ended in 2022 when it was acquired by DesignBro. The acquisition marked the culmination of Craig’s vision to build a scalable and impactful design tool for startups.
