Idea Behind Company
Seth Kramer has a decade-long background in entrepreneurship, starting his first business—a meal plan service for college students—while still in school. Over the years, he explored opportunities to use no-code tools like Zapier and Squarespace, even before the "no-code" movement gained traction. In 2020, after the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted his previous venture, ConferenceTap, Seth pivoted to create No Code MBA.
The inspiration came from his experience using Glide, a no-code app builder, and his recognition of the growing interest in no-code tools. Seth aimed to share his knowledge and help others capitalize on this trend. By consolidating his learnings, he turned No Code MBA into a resource for teaching practical skills to launch businesses efficiently and cost-effectively.
Creating the Company
Seth faced a learning curve while designing his first tutorial, a real estate app inspired by Zillow. Starting with simple screen recordings using Loom, he ensured his explanations were thorough and accessible to those unfamiliar with no-code tools. Editing was done in iMovie, and videos were uploaded privately to YouTube before being integrated into the No Code MBA website, built with Webflow.
The initial setup was cost-effective, with low expenses limited to Webflow hosting and domain fees. By focusing on delivering value and creating a polished product, Seth laid the groundwork for an engaging educational experience. He also leveraged his presence in the Glide community to share his courses and gather early feedback, ensuring his content met audience needs.
Launching the Business
No Code MBA started by offering free content to build trust and attract an initial user base. After gaining traction, Seth introduced a $50 lifetime access offer, quickly attracting 20 paying customers. Organic growth played a significant role, driven by free tutorials, social media engagement, and valuable resources shared within online communities.
To expand his reach, Seth utilized Twitter, growing both his personal and business accounts. Newsletter advertising emerged as a promising strategy, allowing for targeted outreach to potential customers. While experimenting with paid ads yielded mixed results, Seth continues to focus on organic and low-cost marketing methods to drive growth sustainably.
Earnings
No Code MBA generates $6K in monthly revenue, with high profit margins due to minimal operating expenses. Subscription fees for tools like Webflow, Loom, and Mailchimp constitute the main costs. The business has proven its viability, with a growing customer base and consistent income.
Seth plans to invest in newsletter advertising to scale the business further while maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality content. His ultimate goal is to establish No Code MBA as the leading community for entrepreneurs interested in no-code tools, enabling them to launch ventures and automate processes efficiently.
