Pretty Neat: An Organizational Solution

About the Company
Pretty Neat: An Organizational Solution is a service-based business that focuses on creating functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces for its clients. Audra initially began the company by herself, offering personalized organization services to residential clients, although some commercial work is also provided. The company's mission is to reduce stress and anxiety by organizing homes and environments, creating peace and order for families and individuals. The emphasis is on delivering quality service through honesty, hard work, and clear communication with clients.
Audra’s business expanded over time, with more clients and the eventual addition of team members. Pretty Neat offers move management, decluttering, downsizing, and general organization. The business has grown consistently, with Audra attributing its success to focusing on the clients' needs and the calming effect an organized space has on well-being.
Idea Behind Company
Audra’s journey to entrepreneurship began with her background in physical therapy, treating patients in their homes for over 12 years. Although she was always interested in starting her own business, it wasn’t until a suggestion to turn her natural talent for organization into a service that she found her calling. The idea of professional organizing intrigued her, especially after recognizing the connection between cluttered environments and negative health effects.
She discovered that an organized home could significantly improve mental and emotional well-being. Combining her medical background with her newfound interest in organization, she realized she could serve others by helping them regain control over their environments. Audra’s husband was supportive, and together they developed the company’s name, registered the business, and set up social media accounts.
Creating the Company
Starting as a side hustle while still working in physical therapy, Audra gradually built Pretty Neat. She sought help from the Inspired Organizer group to learn more about the business aspects of organizing, such as branding, pricing, and client acquisition. Audra also spent time learning from other small business owners, asking questions, and taking advice on how to grow a company.
The learning curve was steep, especially with pricing, scheduling, and automating business operations. Audra implemented hourly pricing with packaged deals for more extensive projects and provided added value by including extra services, like planning and donating clients’ unwanted items. Over time, she fine-tuned her business model to ensure it was not only profitable but also offered excellent service.
Launching the Business
Audra officially launched Pretty Neat in 2018, with her first client discovering her through the Nextdoor app. Although the early months were slow, Audra stayed consistent with her marketing efforts and slowly built a client base. She kept improving her website, social media presence, and advertising through word of mouth.
Within a year and a half, Audra’s business grew to the point where she could leave her job as a physical therapist and focus on organizing full-time. As the workload increased, she brought on additional team members to help meet demand. The business grew organically, avoiding debt, with Audra reinvesting profits to sustain growth. Her focus on trust, communication, and delivering results built a loyal client base that continues to refer new customers.
Earnings
Audra’s company now generates $12,000 a month, translating to $96,000 annually. She attributes her financial success to consistently delivering excellent service, maintaining an online presence, and utilizing search engine optimization (SEO) to attract clients. Audra also hired help for tasks outside her expertise, like social media management and blog content creation, allowing her to focus on client interaction and business growth.
Today, Pretty Neat continues to expand, with more clients and team members. Audra’s long-term goal is to grow her company even further while maintaining the personal touch that has made her organizing business a success. Despite the competition, she stays focused on her unique approach and aims for continued revenue growth.
