During a school math class, the concept of a pick-and-mix store for protein snacks struck him. He envisioned a platform where people could combine their favorite products, catering to their unique tastes and dietary needs. Fueled by his personal gym experiences, George recognized a gap in the market and decided to address it.  

Investing his £300 birthday money into the first batch of stock, George taught himself coding to build the business’s website. Over three months, he sourced products, created branding, and developed packaging, turning his vision into reality. The initial idea soon proved successful, doubling the investment in its first week.

Creating the Company

Setting up Protein Package required significant creativity and effort, given the limited resources available. George initially struggled with tasks like website development and packaging design but persevered by leveraging free online resources. He spent hours after school learning to code and experimenting with branding ideas.  

The company’s first logo, a parachute, symbolized protein “care packages,” but it underwent refinement for better brand recognition. Packaging design was also a trial-and-error process, with George and his family testing various combinations before finalizing a viable option.  

Early sales success validated the business concept and motivated George to reinvest profits. He expanded the product range, sourcing more brands and innovating with items like protein donuts and low-calorie pretzels. His passion and determination helped establish a firm foundation for the company.

Launching the Business


Protein Package launched with a small range of products, supported by enthusiastic feedback from family and friends. Social media became a vital marketing tool, with Facebook posts driving engagement and sales. The business's visually appealing products gained traction on platforms like Instagram, further amplifying its reach.  

The first year saw all profits reinvested into stock, allowing the range to grow steadily. Despite initial challenges, George celebrated key milestones, from packing the first order at home to hitting 20 daily sales. Each achievement underscored the potential of the business.  

Moving into a warehouse marked a turning point, enabling larger stock orders and faster distribution. Today, Protein Package is not only an online store but also a community hub for fitness and health enthusiasts. Plans for a brick-and-mortar store aim to enhance the customer experience further.
