Vidsaga

About the Company
Vidsaga was launched as a global video production marketplace to simplify video creation for startups and SMEs worldwide. The platform began as a blog featuring video creators and gradually evolved into a business generating revenue. Today, it serves clients across 10+ countries, including the USA, India, UK, and Singapore. Vidsaga uniquely combines the traditional media agency model with online convenience, setting itself apart from competitors. A key feature of Vidsaga is its milestone-based payment system, which lowers barriers for clients to engage with video production services.
In addition to its marketplace, Vidsaga fosters a Global Marketers Community, a growing network of over 52,000 members comprising entrepreneurs, marketers, and management students. This community serves as a strategic long-term initiative to drive business growth and expand the platform’s reach.
Idea Behind Company
The idea for Vidsaga stemmed from Nikhilesh’s entrepreneurial journey and his passion for filmmaking. After shutting down his first startup, CvBhejo.com, he explored theater and filmmaking, discovering parallels between filmmaking and entrepreneurship. He began a blog to highlight the struggles of video creators, inadvertently building the supply side of his future platform. Conversations with creators revealed a lack of work opportunities, while startups expressed difficulty finding reliable video creators. This gap inspired Nikhilesh to build a dedicated platform for video production services, positioning Vidsaga as a unique marketplace in a competitive industry.
Nikhilesh realized that traditional models like Fiverr or Upwork would not work for video production due to its specific requirements. Instead, he designed Vidsaga to replicate the personalized approach of media agencies while leveraging the efficiency of an online platform.
Creating the Company
To bring his idea to life, Nikhilesh collaborated with a freelance engineer to build a simple WordPress website. The initial platform featured basic functionalities, such as a page to submit video requirements and a portfolio showcase for creators. As the platform developed, Nikhilesh refined the business model to meet the needs of startups and SMEs effectively.
He focused on low-cost but high-effort marketing strategies, such as creating valuable content on video creation and entrepreneurship. These efforts resonated with entrepreneurs, leading to the first 100 clients within five months. The hybrid model of Vidsaga—an online marketplace combined with agency services—proved effective in addressing client needs while maintaining affordability and reliability. Unique features, like a seven-day delivery standard and milestone-based payments, further enhanced customer satisfaction.
Launching the Business
Vidsaga launched in a challenging environment with no budget for promotions. To attract clients, Nikhilesh relied on organic content marketing and PR initiatives. High-quality posts on topics like storytelling and entrepreneurship helped build credibility, while word-of-mouth referrals boosted initial traction. Partnerships with digital marketing agencies, coworking spaces, and startup advisors expanded Vidsaga’s reach.
Over time, Vidsaga’s marketing efforts diversified to include email campaigns and Google Ads. Collaborations with B2B service providers further enriched the platform’s offerings. For example, partnerships with app development companies supported app demo videos, while recruitment agencies facilitated employee story videos. By targeting niche markets, Vidsaga strengthened its position as a reliable and innovative platform for video production services.
Earnings
Currently, Vidsaga generates approximately $2,000 per month in revenue, with 1,250+ organizations utilizing the platform. The company’s hybrid model and unique payment terms have been instrumental in attracting and retaining clients from diverse industries and countries. Its global reach extends to the USA, UK, Australia, and several Middle Eastern nations.
Looking ahead, Vidsaga aims to make video production more accessible and affordable for startups and SMEs. The growing Global Marketers Community is central to its long-term strategy, creating a robust referral network to generate consistent video requirements. Nikhilesh’s ability to adapt, learn, and innovate continues to drive Vidsaga’s success, ensuring a promising future for the company.
