Virtual Latinos
Jaime Nacach, the founder of Virtual Latinos, created a platform that connects businesses with virtual assistants (VAs) from Latin America. Launched in 2018, the company has grown into a $4.2 million-a-year business with over 2,000 VAs, primarily catering to North American clients. The business model benefits both clients seeking cost-effective talent and Latinos in need of remote job opportunities, offering salaries 2-4 times higher than their local markets.

About the Company

Virtual Latinos is based in San Diego, California, and was launched in January 2018 by Jaime Nacach. The company specializes in connecting businesses, primarily from North America, with skilled virtual assistants and professionals from Latin America. The platform emphasizes a thorough vetting process to ensure clients are matched with pre-qualified VAs.

As of 2022, Virtual Latinos has grown significantly, with 50,000 applicants, over 13,500 vetted applications, and nearly 2,500 accepted into the platform. The company operates under a model that Nacach describes as a "Win-Win-Win," benefiting the VAs, clients, and the platform itself. This approach has allowed them to build a solid reputation for connecting businesses with quality talent.

Idea Behind Company

Nacach’s inspiration for Virtual Latinos came from his personal experiences as a Mexican native living in the U.S. Wanting to give back to the Latino community while running a business, he explored ways to combine these two goals. His initial challenge arose when he sought affordable, reliable assistance for his marketing agency, Bloominari. After finding that virtual assistants from other regions, such as the Philippines, were not meeting his needs due to time zone and communication issues, he decided to focus on hiring talent from Latin America.

He realized that businesses in North America could benefit from the bilingual and affordable professionals in Latin America, and at the same time, he could offer better income opportunities to the region's workforce. Thus, Virtual Latinos was born, aiming to provide virtual services while making a positive social impact.

Creating the Company

Nacach’s development of Virtual Latinos began with a personal need—finding reliable virtual assistants for his marketing agency. Initially, he launched a simple landing page to attract Latin American virtual assistants, investing time and resources in paid ads to drive traffic to the site. The focus was on identifying bilingual professionals willing to work remotely.

Once they had a few hundred applicants, Nacach shifted his focus toward finding clients. The challenge became fulfilling his promise of job opportunities for VAs, which led to the creation of a directory where clients could view and hire pre-vetted virtual professionals. Nacach’s meticulous vetting process ensured that only the most qualified applicants were accepted, helping to build trust with clients and VAs alike.

Launching the Business

Virtual Latinos officially launched in early 2018, with the purchase of the VirtualLatinos.com domain. The first step was to establish the VA directory, which initially offered free access to potential clients in exchange for feedback. Within a few months, the business shifted to a paid model, where clients could either use the directory or opt for a full-service agency to help with recruitment.

The business gained traction through a combination of online marketing, content creation, and networking events. By the middle of 2018, Virtual Latinos had hired its first VAs, and over time, more clients began using the platform for remote hires. The recruitment agency model soon became more popular than the directory service, as clients preferred having pre-selected candidates based on their specific needs.

Earnings

By March 2022, Virtual Latinos had grown to generate $350,000 in monthly revenue. The company continues to expand, with over 540 VAs and 375 active clients. Nacach credits the business's success to a combination of inbound marketing, SEO strategies, and offering a specialized service not widely available from other regions. Virtual Latinos projects further growth as it plans to reach 2,500 VAs by the end of 2023, demonstrating strong demand for its services and a positive trajectory into the future.
